Blue Rocket is on the (scum) run!

So you may remember our shenanigans last year, where we took ourselves off in a Rover 75 and travelled around Europe for 5 days raising money for charity.

Let’s just say there were ups and downs, but we did (eventually) make it home in one piece, and managed to raise a ton of money for Demelza Hospice and Together for Short Lives along the way.

The crazy thing is that we’ve agreed to go again this year, think we were caught in a weak moment…

And we were caught by Orchard Garage who wanted in on the action too, and so we’ve decided to make the trip in convoy with them by our side.

We’ve got a feeling that you might be able to tell which cars are ours, in in line with being Blue Rocket, we’ve decided on a Thunderbirds theme this year, FAB!

We might be the subtle one out of the two, Orchard Garage has plumped for a shocking Lady Penelope pink…

Of course, there is some method to our madness, we’re not just doing it for the fun of it (although it is fun!) but to raise much needed funds for charity.

So we’re raising money for charity – this year the charity nominated by Scumrun is Action Medical Research for children. This charity helps fund urgently needed research to save and change the lives of sick and vulnerable babies and children. A worthy cause I’m sure you’ll agree.

So, we’ve got two fundraising events taking place in the run up – there’s not long to go – we depart on 17th May – and we need your help to a) attend, and b) donate money.

The first event is a curry night taking place on Monday 9th April at the Crayford Tandoori. £20 each to attend, just get in touch with us or Orchard Garage to confirm your attendance. We have exclusive use of the restaurant and there’s lots of food included!

The week before the Scumrun  – Fri 11th May, Orchard Garage (Geoff & Pam) and ourselves (Ray & Julie) are hosting a live band night. We have the brilliant More Than Human playing at the Dartford Cricket Club. They play covers of a mixture of popular songs and it will be a great evening! The evening starts at 8pm. Tickets are £10 each and must be paid in advance (as there is a hall limit). Again, just get in touch with us or Orchard Garage to book your place. Both Scumrun cars will be in attendance! More information can be found here (https://www.facebook.com/events/858103417705368/)

And don’t forget to follow our progress – we’ll be posting regular updates on our social media profiles. It’s going to be good, 5-4-3-2-1, Thunderbirds are GO!!
