Fancy yourself as a bit of a Wayne Rooney? Think you could show friends, colleagues, family a thing or two when it comes to your skills on the pitch? Could you gather together a team who think they are more Leicester City than Newcastle? Then the five-a-side Tri-Charity Cup is definitely one for you.
If you’re up for a bit of a kick around with seven other team-mates (allowing for rotation and injuries, we know you aren’t all spring chickens any more) and can picture yourself on the podium in first spot holding a cup aloft, then get yourself registered for this momentous sporting event which could see you crowned champions for you to gloat over forever more.
The event is taking place at Strood Leisure Centre on Saturday 21st May from 9am to 5pm, and it costs just £80 per team to enter. So for just a tenner a player, what are you waiting for?
Even better news is that the tournament is for mixed teams, so if you want to show the men how it’s really done, then ladies, we’re waiting to sign you up!
But don’t forget, behind every team is a manager, so if you want to give the lads and lassies a dressing down in the dressing room, know your 4-4-2 from your 4-5-1 and think you m
ight be Kent’s answer to the Chosen One, then there’s still the opportunity to get involved.
And of course we still need supporters cheering the teams on (and someone to dish out the oranges at half time!).
The good thing about the event is that Leisure King Ltd will be showcasing all its fun activities; there’s a family friendly entertainment area, refreshments available, and also a raffle which will take place during the day with some exciting prizes on offer. So it’s a great day out for all the family. All in the knowledge that you will be helping out three amazing charities at the same time.
So if that’s whetted your appetite, and you’re about to dig out your boots, wait! You need to register your team first.
To book your spot (we do have limited numbers, so you need to be quick off the mark) then visit www.parentsconsortium.org.uk/tri-charity-football/ to get yourself booked on.
We will be fielding a side, and we’re already in training! So if you want to join us, then sign up! Even if you don’t, we’d love to see you there on the day, cheering us along, and celebrating with us as we win! (aherm)
